Paul Burtenshaw - Principal Consultant

Senior logistics professional with 30+ years of hands-on experience across marine and rail operations in both Europe and Australia. I started my career as a vessel planner on the docks at Felixstowe and spent the decades that followed working my way through operational, systems, and leadership roles at some of the industry's most recognisable names — P&O Ports, Pacific National, and DP World.

Throughout that time I've led projects and held senior positions spanning operations, planning, terminal systems, automation, optimisation, and operational readiness. I understand what it actually takes to make a terminal run — and what it takes to build or transform one.

Alongside my operational leadership roles, I was consistently drawn on internally to lead major business projects — including project managing the installation of a new Terminal Operating System at Melbourne's West Swanson Terminal, and serving as Systems Project Manager for the Fisherman's Island automation project at DP World — a recognition that technical and project capability go hand-in-hand with operational leadership at the highest level.

In late 2022 I established Jetpak Consulting Services to bring that experience to clients in an advisory capacity. I work with logistics businesses looking to either optimise existing operations or develop new facilities, drawing on a knowledge base built across global best-of-breed environments.
